Collection Tin Coordinator
Regional fundraising is at the very centre of how we raise vital funds at a local level. The money we raise funds the delivery of universal services that include our website and National Dementia Helpline, as well as services we provide locally.
The role is based in your local community. You will be placing collecting tins in various premises such as supermarkets, shopping /garden centres, cafes and then collecting the tins when they are full.
Hearing Aid Maintainer
To visit on a regular basis Residential Homes, Sheltered Units, Nursing Homes, Day Centres and people with mobility problems to establish a friendly and helpful relationship with hard of hearing residents/individuals. Opportunity to provide support at local exhibitions where the East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre have a display stand, also to provide support on the Mobile Advisory Service which travels throughout East Sussex.
Main tasks and responsibilities involve:
- To check hearing aids are functioning: - check ear moulds and clean if necessary - check tubing and replace where appropriate - check hearing aid batteries and replace if necessary - replace hearing aid cords where appropriate - to go over basic guidance on using hearing aids to best advantage.
Side by Side Volunteer
You will be joining a brand new Alzheimer's Society service called Side by Side, which aims to help people with dementia to continue to do the things they love, with the support of a volunteer.
As a Side by Side Volunteer, you could support a person with dementia to do the following - go to their local park, the cinema, take part in a club, visit local museums, try a new leisure activity or just stay at home and do an activity together such as gardening, arts or crafts.
This service is available all over East Sussex and volunteers are matched with someone who lives in their locality.
